I used to be a diehard “No Christmas until after Thanksgiving” person. But after the craziness of the last few years I’ve decided there’s always room for joy (even if it means bending the holiday rules). I even released an instrumental Christmas album in October, lol. I’m now officially contributing to the problem of early Christmas-itus 🤭.

Life’s too short to put off the things that bring joy. There’s enough Christmas magic to go around.

What is your rule about listening to Christmas music?

For years, I was staunchly in the “No Christmas until after Thanksgiving” camp.

My husband, however, believes the holiday season begins on Oct. 1st, lol.

When I began working on a new Christmas album, I debated about when to release it…but the more I thought about it, I figured, why not let people decide when they’re ready to feel in a festive mood.

Today marks the release of Simply Christmas, Vol. 2.

So, whether you’re jamming to Jingle Bells in June or choose to wait until the Thanksgiving Dinner has been cleared, I hope that this new music is a blessing to you and your family.

We adopted a puppy about 1.5 weeks ago from a loca

We adopted a puppy about 1.5 weeks ago from a local animal rescue. She’s an 18-week-old Mexican Hot Dog (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix).

This is our family’s first pet and she has definitely been keeping us in our toes, but she’s a sweet pup.

I’m new to the world of pets and puppies, so I’ll admit I’m a little nervous, lol.

The kids are already in love. They’ve wanted a dog for years.

Fun fact: There are 109 days until Christmas. (Don’t get mad…I’m generally a stickler for the no Christmas until after Thanksgiving rule), but I’ve been hard at work on my new Christmas album.

My goal is to finish this album up in the next couple weeks so that it will be available in October of this year (For those who believe it’s never too early for Christmas).

Four. Million. Streams.

From a mom recording music in her living room using a cheap keyboard, Garage Band, and a borrowed iPad while her babies napped in the other room.

Sometimes my music feels a bit like the Bible story of the loaves and the fishes. God is able to take a simple offering and multiply it and use it to bless others…far beyond what it could or should be able to do on its own.

I’m well aware that there are others more talented and well-trained. I’ll re-listen to some of my songs and think of all the ways it could have been better.

BUT I’ll share a small nugget of hard earned wisdom with you. Done is better than perfect (unless you’re a surgeon…then please aim for perfection, lol).

However, when it comes to creative art, your beginnings WILL be messy. You will learn, grow, and evolve. This is a good thing.

I’m thankful for each and every listener (over 709,000 people from countries literally all over the planet). 🤯

Thank you for being a part of this journey with me. 🥰 I can’t wait to see how things will continue to grow and change.

I’m celebrating the milestone by purchasing the computer I’ve wanted for years (one that can handle all of my music recording needs without lagging or crashing). I’m looking forward to sharing new music in the months ahead!

Any other tea lovers out there? 🫖

During the summer months I’m taking a break from my normal creative work and focusing on two main things: My health and my house.

I have a huge love of tea, but my tea stash was an absolute mess. I had tea boxes piled up on top of each other and my loose leaf teas were crammed into ziplock bags which means that I seldom remembered what tea I had.

My new set-up lets me easily access my favorite teas. (Plus it looks MUCH nicer…I really should have taken a “before” shot.

The good news is that there are steps that you can take today to help reduce your risk.

Ask yourself these three questions:

*What is most important to me?

* Is there anything I feel called or created to do?

* What can I say no to during this current season.

Creating a bit of margin in your life allows you to protect what really matters.

I'm a huge believer in "seasons" of life. If it's fire weather, you would be wise to be mindful of the "busyness" of your days and build in a bit of intentional breathing room so that you can continue making a difference and preserve the things you love (as well as your mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health).
