Five Lessons Every Kid Should Learn

Sarah Brooks

There are hundreds of thousands of lessons we teach children during the course of their lifetimes. It was hard to narrow it down to the top five, but these are at the top of my list.

  1. You are loved, but you are not the center of the universe. Learn the value of putting others before yourself.
  2. Home is a safe place. You are always free to share your fears, concerns, and frustrations with mom and dad.
  3. Always do your best. You don’t have to BE the best, but you do need to DO your best.
  4. Your value does not come from your appearance or your possessions, but from the fact that God loves you and created you just the way you are – you don’t have to be like everyone else.
  5. Show respect to those around you.

What are the top lessons in your family? How do you teach them to your kids?
